Our 2-day Paediatric First Aid Course is perfect for those who need to be first aiders in childcare settings such as schools (pre, primary, and secondary), nurseries, after-school care clubs, childminders, and at-home child carers. The course is available over two consecutive days.

Meets Official Requirements: The course syllabus aligns with the standards of both Ofsted Early Years and the Childcare Register, ensuring comprehensive training.

Key Skills Developed:

• Provide first aid for an infant or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally, including resuscitation techniques.
• Handle situations where a child or infant is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
• Manage foreign body airway obstruction and control external bleeding.
• Treat injuries to bones, joints, and muscles.
• Address chronic medical conditions or sudden illnesses, such as: Sickle cell crisis, Diabetic emergencies, Asthma attacks, Allergic reactions, Meningitis

Comprehensive Care Techniques:

• Respond to electric shocks, burns, or scalds.
• Treat poisoning, bites, or stings.
• Manage shock effectively.
• Care for minor injuries like cuts, grazes, bumps, bruises, small splinters, and nosebleeds.
• Address conditions affecting the eyes, ears, and nose.
• Handle head and spinal injuries with care.
• Provide assistance in cases of anaphylaxis.
• Administer first aid for extreme temperature effects (heat and cold).

Assessment and Certification

Throughout the course, we will assess candidates to ensure they have the required underpinning knowledge. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification that is valid for 3 years.
