    ElectroCardioGraph (ECG) Course

    Our ECG training courses are held within customers’ premises, and have been designed by an experienced qualified general nurse with extensive experience in coronary care & intensive care units within the NHS setting.

    The course is designed to provide healthcare professionals whose role includes the use of an electrocardiograph (ECG) machine with an awareness in the use of ECG machines within the clinical environment and includes the recognition of common rhythms to accepted core competencies.

    We have over 25 years experience in the NHS and Emergency Services and are active members of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the Federation of First Aid Training Organisations (FOFATO).

    The ECG course consists of a half day (3 hour) course which covers

    • Understand Basic Cardiac Anatomy
    • Understand Cardiac Terminology
    • Understand the conduction system of the heart
    • Recognize the components of the ECG
    • Recognize the principles & practice of performing 12 lead ECG’s
    • Understand ECG Analysis
    • Identify the four cardiac arrest rhythms
    • Understand the operation of the ECG
    • Assess the casualty suffering chest pain.

    On completion of the course, delegates will receive an Electrocardiograph Awareness attendance certificate confirming their attendance at a First Aid Scotland Electrocardiograph Awareness Course.
